How it
works

Last updated 6 August 2026

1. The four board kinds

Rituals are scheduled. They have days attached, build streaks, and are the only things that can be missed.

Habits are opportunistic. No schedule, no due date, no way to fail them. You log them when they happen.

Quests are one-offs, optionally with a due date and a checklist.

Rewards are things you buy yourself with Embers, at a price you set.

2. Momentum, and what missing a day costs

Momentum is Habitra's health analogue and deliberately does not kill anyone. Missing a scheduled ritual drains it; completing anything refills it.

Absence is charged on a sliding scale. The first missed day costs full price, the second 60%, and every day after that 30%, with a hard cap on the total, however long you were away. Nothing is ever deleted, no level is ever lost, and no XP is ever taken back.

If Momentum reaches zero you enter Ebb: earnings are halved until you complete 3 things, at which point Momentum is restored and you are paid a bonus for coming back.

3. Why coming back pays most

The first thing you complete after an absence is worth 150% of normal, the single largest multiplier in the game, larger than a perfect streak at its ceiling of +38%.

That is a deliberate design choice, not a bug. A system that punishes a broken streak loses the person on the day they most need it.

4. Why the same habit pays less each time

Every item carries a drift value. Completing it pushes drift down; leaving it alone lets drift climb back, and payout scales with drift. On top of that, each score of the same item in one day pays a fraction of the last.

The result is that the task you have been avoiding is worth more than the one you tap twenty times, and there is a ceiling of 900 XP on any single day regardless.

5. Your path is permanent

Pioneer, Pathfinder, Mystic and Sage are parallel playstyles, not tiers. Each leads in two attributes, gives ground in two, and takes its advantage in a different part of the loop.

The choice is sealed once and cannot be changed: not by you, not by us, and not on request. The sealing screen restates the exact advantage and trade-off before asking for a second confirmation, and that is the only warning there is.

6. Your Vora

A Vora is spiritual power: your hero's inner force, manifesting as an aura behind them. Your path determines which Vora is yours, but its aura and benefits remain dormant until Level 10. Once awakened, it is permanently bound to your path and can never be sold or lost.

7. The weekly challenge

Every player faces the same boss in a given week. Your completions strike it automatically, and work in the week's weak domain hits considerably harder. You do not need to organise anything or join a party. The alliance total is simply everyone's damage added together.

8. Common questions

My streak did not count.
Check Settings โ†’ Your day. If you are usually still going after midnight, set the rollover hour to 04:00 and late nights count as the previous day.

The sound does not work.
Sound effects are synthesised and need one tap on the page before a browser will allow audio at all. Tap anything, then try the sample in Settings.

Haptics are greyed out.
The device has no vibration motor. iOS Safari has no vibration API at all.
